Woman In The Hat
This dry point on paper of a woman wearing a hat, was not flat, paper was darken by acids that leached from framing materials. Artwork was removed from its frame and matting. Moisture was added to the paper to allow it to be flattened. Weak bleaching and disinfecting buffered solutions were used to reduce the acid in the paper as well as lighten the staining in the paper. Artwork was pressed and dried.
Mezzotint Of A Sitting Girl
This colored mezzotint of a sitting girl, was darken by acids that leached from framing materials. Artwork was removed from its frame and matting. Weak bleaching and disinfecting buffered solutions were used to reduce the acid in the paper as well as lighten the staining in the paper. Artwork was pressed and dried.
